Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care in critical settings, including ventilator management, medication administration, and patient assessment. They deliver patient-centered care, education, and support to patients, families, and staff, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments and collaborate with healthcare teams to plan care.
- Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and analyze arterial blood gases.
- Educate patients, mentor new employees, and support staff development.
- Ensure accurate documentation, promote patient safety, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in invasive/non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with science coursework.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist certification and necessary licenses.
- Minimum 0-2 years clinical experience with critical care exposure.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills.
- Ability to establish professional relationships with healthcare providers.
