Role: Supervises laboratory operations, focusing on workflow management, process improvement, and staff leadership in a high-complexity clinical lab environment.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise laboratory staff, including managing promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.
- Lead workflow organization, using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Manage labor and resources within budget, reduce waste, and contribute to departmental budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards (CAP, CMS, AABB, FDA, CLIA) and OSHA regulations.
- Participate in or lead initiatives to improve service quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Facilitate effective communication within the organization and with external partners.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science, medical technology, or related field.
- At least four years of experience in high-complexity testing, with preferred supervisory experience.
- Certification (MLS or specialty) is preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of quality improvement methodologies.
