Job Summary
Provides assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures across all age groups, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports treatment coordination with multidisciplinary teams and provides basic patient assistance.
- Prepares patients and surgical sites following aseptic techniques, including scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and draping.
- Participates in surgical briefings, confirms correct surgical site, and maintains accurate supply counts.
- Handles specimens, disposes of sharps properly, and assesses wounds for dressing changes.
- Adheres to universal precautions, assists with emergency procedures, and performs post-operative tasks like specimen collection and patient transport.
- Acts as a preceptor for students, ensures compliance with policies, and performs quality control activities.
- Supports billing processes and participates in on-call rotations, including responding promptly to emergencies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of Specialty Training Program.
- Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligible under relevant regulations.
- Ability to work in a clinical environment, follow protocols, and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
Additional Details
- Full-time role involving 12-hour shifts, rotating start times, and participation in on-call, weekend, and holiday rotations.
- Requires a minimum 30-minute response time for on-call shifts.
