Role: Provides technical support as a Surgical First Assistant in the operating room, assisting surgeons with hemostasis, tissue manipulation, exposure, and wound closure.
Responsibilities:
– Facilitate surgical procedures through tissue manipulation, hemostasis, retraction, and exposure.
– Prepare and position patients safely, including draping, hair removal, and ensuring proper alignment.
– Assist with suturing, wound closure, and applying dressings.
– Inject medications as directed and manipulate tissues during surgery.
– Support team training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
– Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
– Completion of a surgical technology or accredited surgical assistant program, or equivalent experience with ongoing education.
– Active certifications such as NBSTSA CST or NCCT TS-C, and CSFA or CSA as required.
– Maintains mandatory continuing education.
– Ability to perform tissue dissection, suturing, and assist with surgical procedures.
