A surgical technologist is responsible for assisting the surgeon during pediatric intraoperative procedures, adhering to AORN and OSA standards of practice.
Collaborates with healthcare team members to provide patient- and family-centered care in a cost-effective manner.
Ensures excellent customer service for patients, families, nurses, physicians, and staff.
Functions as a team player, practicing open communication with a positive and flexible attitude.
Participates in quality improvement activities to support departmental goals.
Serves as a role model, educator, coach, and patient advocate.
Maintains sterile technique, prepares age-appropriate instrumentation and supplies, and passes instruments during procedures.
Utilizes physician preference cards and may be required to take call as per departmental policy.
Work locations include both main and south campuses.
Schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 7 AM to 7 PM.
Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited program, CST certification, and CPR certification (preferred at hire or obtained within 2 weeks).
