Surgical Technician (45301) → Surgical Technician

A surgical technologist is responsible for assisting the surgeon during pediatric intraoperative procedures, adhering to AORN and OSA standards of practice.

  • Collaborates with healthcare team members to provide patient- and family-centered care in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensures excellent customer service for patients, families, nurses, physicians, and staff.
  • Functions as a team player, practicing open communication with a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities to support departmental goals.
  • Serves as a role model, educator, coach, and patient advocate.
  • Maintains sterile technique, prepares age-appropriate instrumentation and supplies, and passes instruments during procedures.
  • Utilizes physician preference cards and may be required to take call as per departmental policy.
  • Work locations include both main and south campuses.
    Schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 7 AM to 7 PM.
    Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited program, CST certification, and CPR certification (preferred at hire or obtained within 2 weeks).
