Job Summary
Performs specialized technical duties in surgical or procedural settings under supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. Assists the surgical team by handling equipment and instrumentation to maintain a safe operating room environment, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and functioning properly.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
Experience:
- Preferred: One year of experience as a Surgical Tech
Certification/Licensure:
- Must hold one of the following: Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, Surgical Technician Certification by the National Center for Competency Testing, or certification from the U.S. Military or U.S. Public Health Service Surgical Technology Program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, to be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire
