Role Overview:
Responsible for managing store employees, overseeing all store operations including staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer service to ensure smooth daily functioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, evaluate, and retain qualified staff, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Lead performance management, conduct regular communication on expectations, and support staff development.
- Manage store opening and closing procedures, ensuring proper staffing and operational efficiency.
- Analyze financial statements to identify business trends, control expenses, and minimize shrinkage.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, stocking, and presentation to meet or exceed stock targets.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels, control damages, and ensure proper merchandise display.
- Enforce cash handling, security, and safety policies to safeguard assets and provide a secure shopping environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, complete documentation accurately, and facilitate effective communication.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math calculations.
- Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with leadership capabilities.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, counseling, and terminating staff in compliance with legal standards.
- Good organization, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Bilingual skills may be preferred for some locations.
Experience & Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Management experience in retail is advantageous.
Physical & Work Environment:
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
- Use of equipment such as scanners, pricing guns, and carts.
- Fast-paced environment with exposure to outside weather conditions at times.
