Role Overview: Responsible for managing store operations, staff, and processes to ensure effective execution of tasks such as ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, evaluate, and retain qualified employees, ensuring proper staffing and adherence to labor laws.
- Communicate performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, and address gaps or disciplinary needs.
- Manage store opening and closing procedures, including personally opening or closing the store as required.
- Analyze operating statements to identify sales trends, expense control opportunities, and shrinkage issues.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and stock replenishment to meet or exceed targets.
- Ensure merchandise presentation aligns with company standards using proper fixtures, signage, and pricing.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
- Uphold financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, and security policies.
- Lead customer service initiatives, maintain a clean and safe environment, and ensure store tools and equipment are available.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, complete required documentation, and support a positive team environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math calculations.
- Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience with recruiting, interviewing, coaching, and legal compliance is preferred.
- Physical ability to perform frequent walking, standing, lifting (up to 55 pounds), and other manual tasks.
- Bilingual skills may be preferred at some locations.
Experience/Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; management experience in retail is advantageous.
