We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support department operations, perform instrument cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, and assembly tasks, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving, sorting, cleaning, and decontaminating reusable instruments and equipment per manufacturer guidelines
- Operating cleaning and sterilization machinery such as washers, reprocessors, and pasteurizers
- Inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments, preparing trays, and monitoring sterilizer settings
- Leading department operations in the absence of the SPD Manager by organizing workflow and prioritizing tasks
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge through education and participation in hospital committees
- Assisting with staff training, competency testing, and managing workflow and safety as a charge person
- Collaborating with staff, OR personnel, and managers to ensure smooth operations and accurate documentation
- Troubleshooting operational issues and supporting decision-making and problem resolution
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of three years of Sterile Processing experience
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
- Certified Endoscopy Reprocessor (CER) certification required at hire or within one year
- Preferred: Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS)
