The Speech Pathologist evaluates and treats patients with hearing, speech, language, and swallowing issues based on medical diagnoses and physician orders, adhering to established standards of practice.
They apply growth and development principles to care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, working collaboratively with clients, physicians, and staff to promote teamwork.
Requirements include a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology, a CCC from ASHA, and a valid state license or ongoing clinical fellowship (CFY). BLS certification from the American Heart Association is also necessary.
