Role Overview:
The Specialty Pharmacy Technician supports prescription fulfillment and order intake within a pharmacy setting, under supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fulfill prescription orders, including specialty pharmaceuticals, injectables, and cell gene therapies, adhering to regulations and policies.
- Process, pack, and ship pharmacy orders with accurate documentation and supplies.
- Manage drug and supply inventory, ensuring proper storage and refrigeration.
- Verify patient and provider data, process prescriptions in dispensing software, and ensure reimbursement coverage.
- Coordinate logistics for shipments, track deliveries, and resolve misrouted packages.
- Act as liaison with patients, providers, insurance companies, and manufacturers via communication channels.
- Maintain accurate documentation of interactions and prescription processing activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
- Valid pharmacy technician license in good standing.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Preferred: experience in warehouse or supply chain, national certification, and specialty pharmacy experience.
