RN- Surgery (Methodist)

Role Overview:
Provides professional nursing care within an interdisciplinary team, applying nursing knowledge and the nursing process to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient status through interviews, observations, and physical exams.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Use evidence-based interventions to meet care goals and evaluate patient progress regularly.
  • Document care activities accurately, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Demonstrate professional accountability, maintain current clinical knowledge, and promote team development.
  • Operate and troubleshoot medical equipment, perform bedside lab testing, and ensure patient safety.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary care, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Educate patients and families with tailored strategies considering age, culture, and developmental needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and process enhancements to improve patient satisfaction and care standards.
  • Qualifications & Skills:
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with required certifications, including BLS within 30 days.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods, prioritize care, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
