Role Overview:
As a member of an interdisciplinary team, provides professional nursing care by applying the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient status through interviews, observations, and physical exams.
- Develop and modify individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare team.
- Implement interventions to achieve patient outcomes and document progress regularly.
- Ensure patient safety, obtain lab specimens, and perform bedside testing in compliance with policies.
- Utilize clinical knowledge, troubleshoot equipment, and stay current with evidence-based practices.
- Communicate effectively with team members, delegate tasks appropriately, and provide shift reports.
- Educate patients considering their cultural, age, and developmental factors.
- Promote quality care, patient satisfaction, and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Advocate for patients, collaborate with physicians, and utilize resources to resolve clinical issues.
- Contribute to unit-based projects, audits, and process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Licensed RN with valid Illinois license, BLS certification, and a nursing degree. Demonstrates professional accountability, technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and effective communication.
