Job Summary: This role involves coordinating patient flow and inpatient capacity management by collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure efficient patient transfers and placements that meet care needs and policies.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with referring and accepting physicians to facilitate smooth patient transfers.
- Work closely with inpatient charge nurses and attending physicians for timely patient placement.
- Supervise personnel within Patient Placement and assist with onboarding new staff.
- Communicate operational updates and capacity issues, escalating as necessary.
- Monitor bed availability and occupancy trends to plan for admissions and discharges.
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and emergency procedures.
- Participate in policy development and promote a positive work environment.
- Serve as an administrative representative, providing feedback and supporting staff development.
Qualifications & Skills:
- RN license in the state of PA.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in patient placement or related capacity management.
- Strong communication, leadership, and resource management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and analyze capacity trends.
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing.
