Role Overview: This position involves coordinating patient flow and inpatient capacity management by collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure efficient patient transfers, placements, and adherence to policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with physicians and nurses to facilitate smooth patient transfers and placements.
- Supervise personnel within Patient Placement and assist with onboarding new staff.
- Prioritize resources based on bed availability and monitor occupancy trends for optimal planning.
- Communicate operational updates and significant issues to relevant personnel and management.
- Participate in policy development, compliance, and emergency procedures such as disaster and code protocols.
- Support team development and provide feedback on professional practice.
- Serve as an administrative representative, relaying capacity issues to leadership.
Qualifications & Skills:
- RN license in the relevant state.
- Minimum three years of experience in patient placement or similar roles.
- Strong communication, leadership, and resource management skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and collaborate across departments.
