RN – Cardiovascular Care Unit (Intermediate)

The Registered Nurse (RN) role involves providing comprehensive care in a fast-paced, 18-bed Cardiac Care unit, handling patients aged 18 and older with conditions such as arrhythmias, CHF, MI, and post-cardiac procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing initial assessments and developing individualized care plans.
  • Implementing nursing interventions, managing cardiac drips, and ensuring patient safety.
  • Documenting care accurately and maintaining compliance with departmental standards.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members such as charge nurses, social workers, and respiratory staff.
  • Using equipment like IV pumps, cardiac monitors, and oxygen therapy tools.
  • Providing discharge teaching and ensuring a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications include: Valid RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications, H.S. Diploma/GED, and relevant work experience. Skills required are assessment, patient communication, safety awareness, and teamwork. The role emphasizes professional development, proactive patient care, and adherence to safety standards.
