RN – Acute Care – Orthopedic Surgery – Full-time Day Shift

Role Overview: The RN Clinical Nurse specializes in acute care, specifically in Orthopedic Surgical units, providing high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care within a collaborative interdisciplinary team. They practice according to evidence-based standards, uphold the nursing scope of practice, and adhere to professional ethics and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—focused on individualized patient outcomes.
  • Deliver relationship-based, culturally sensitive, patient-centered care, engaging patients and families through effective communication and education.
  • Coordinate care with team members, ensuring documentation of safe, quality care and fostering a respectful, inclusive environment.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, research, and shared governance to promote safety and quality standards.
  • Support professional development by completing required training, mentoring fellow staff, and serving as a preceptor.
  • Engage in evidence-based practice, contribute to protocol development, and ensure compliance with policies and accreditation standards.
  • Utilize clinical resources effectively, plan across care continuum, and assist in developing care protocols to improve outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Baccalaureate preferred.
  • Current RN license (single or multi-state Compact) and BLS certification.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in technology and clinical documentation.
