Role Overview: This position involves providing compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in an acute care orthopedic surgical setting. The RN will perform the nursing process, ensuring individualized care using evidence-based practices, and collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, emphasizing clinical standards and cultural diversity.
- Partner with patients and significant others through communication methods like bedside reports and teaching to align care with patient goals.
- Coordinate safe, high-quality care and documentation, fostering teamwork and respectful, inclusive environments.
- Participate in performance improvement, research, and shared governance activities to enhance patient outcomes.
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor, support professional development, and uphold organizational policies and safety standards.
- Promote evidence-based practice, contribute to resource development, and engage in data collection for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Current RN license (single or multi-state compact) and BLS certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with direct patient care experience preferred.
- Strong clinical, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills.
