Role Overview: Acts as a pharmacist at the retail pharmacy, ensuring the delivery of accurate, safe, and efficient medication services. Responsible for interpreting prescriptions, evaluating drug interactions, and providing counseling to patients and healthcare professionals. Manages pharmacy operations, supervises staff, and delegates tasks to pharmacy technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and process prescriptions, ensuring proper medication dispensing and patient safety.
- Review medication profiles for sensitivities, interactions, contraindications, and duplications.
- Enter patient and insurance information to maintain accurate records and facilitate billing.
- Provide counseling to patients and physicians on medication use and adherence.
- Resolve prescribing issues, suggest formulary substitutions, and collaborate with healthcare providers.
- Oversee pharmacy activities, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Consult on drug therapy, prepare sterile compounds, and recommend operational improvements.
- Assist in inventory management and assume responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (required).
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, and pharmacy operations.
- Excellent communication, counseling, and supervisory skills.
