Summary:
This role involves performing respiratory therapy procedures in critical and intensive care settings, following physician orders, departmental policies, and safety protocols. Responsibilities include managing invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, airway management, blood gas analysis, and patient education. The position requires effective communication with healthcare team members, accurate documentation, and adherence to infection control standards. It is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience, with graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program
- Respiratory Care Practitioner license and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as NRP, PALS, ACLS may be required
- Skills to treat patients across all ages, including neonates to geriatrics
