Role: Per Diem Respiratory Therapist responsible for assessing, planning, performing, and evaluating respiratory care treatments to meet patient needs.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough patient assessments, establish care plans, perform routine therapies (e.g., aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy), manage mechanical ventilators, and provide patient and family education. Assist in intra-hospital transport, manage airway emergencies, and support procedures like bronchoscopy and invasive monitoring. Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and maintain patient confidentiality. Serve as Shift Coordinator after one year and act as a preceptor for new staff and students.
Qualifications & Skills: High School Diploma or GED, graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Respiratory Therapy, strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to perform and document assessments accurately. Experience with ventilator management and emergency airway procedures is essential.
