Respiratory Therapist – Part Time, Night Shift

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, airway procedures, and patient assessments in critical care settings. They deliver comprehensive patient education, collaborate with healthcare teams, and participate in staff development and training. The role emphasizes ensuring safe, quality care aligned with evidence-based practices, promoting patient safety, and supporting performance improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, interpret waveforms, and perform airway procedures.
  • Conduct patient assessments, collaborate on care planning, and educate patients and their support systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, promote safety protocols, and support quality improvement efforts.
  • Mentor and precept new staff, students, and peers.
  • Participate in invasive and diagnostic procedures as needed and ensure compliance with policies and standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with science coursework; Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s preferred.
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Respiratory Care Practitioner certification required.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and instructor certifications are mandatory.
