Role: Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) responsible for assessing patients’ respiratory needs, planning and delivering treatments, and ensuring optimal patient and family experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough patient assessments and establish care plans.
- Administer therapeutic modalities such as aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and secretion management.
- Manage mechanical ventilators and monitor non-invasive devices like pulse oximeters.
- Provide patient and family education on disease management.
- Assist with intra-hospital transport and acute airway management in emergencies.
- Support invasive procedures, including fiberoptic bronchoscopy and placement of monitoring lines.
- Collect blood samples, maintain patient confidentiality, and adhere to safety protocols.
- Serve as shift coordinator and preceptor for students and new staff.
Qualifications & Skills: Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy, valid certifications (ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS), and ability to operate advanced respiratory equipment. Strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to regulatory standards are essential.
