Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, airway procedures, and patient assessment in critical care settings. They deliver patient-centered care, addressing biological, emotional, developmental, and psychosocial needs, while educating patients, families, staff, and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer aerosolized medications, perform ventilator management, arterial blood gas analysis, and airway procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care planning.
- Provide education to patients, families, and new staff or students.
- Promote a safe, quality environment through accurate documentation, compliance, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Support a positive team environment and foster professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
- Certifications: NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, and ACLS.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills; ability to establish effective relationships with healthcare professionals.
