Role: Respiratory Therapist II responsible for delivering advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in complex, critical care settings. This role involves independent decision-making, ventilator management, airway procedures, arterial blood gas sampling, and patient education. The RT II collaborates with healthcare teams, mentors staff and students, and participates in quality improvement and evidence-based practices to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent patient care through assessment, therapy planning, and documentation
- Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, and perform airway procedures
- Educate patients and support systems, and assist in invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures
- Promote safety, accurate documentation, and participation in performance improvement initiatives
- Support team environment, foster staff development, and adhere to hospital policies
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred)
- Certifications: NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, and ACLS
- 0-2 years of clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills
- Ability to establish professional relationships with team members and patients
