Role Overview: This position involves leading and managing a shift in a healthcare setting, ensuring safe and high-quality patient care through independent judgment and clinical expertise. The role includes overseeing daily activities, facilitating interdisciplinary communication, and supporting staff development and performance evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate shift operations, assigning patient care based on needs and staff competencies.
- Serve as a clinical resource, providing direct patient care, medication administration, and equipment oversight.
- Facilitate onboarding, training, and ongoing education of staff and students.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and analysis to enhance care delivery.
- Monitor equipment functionality, manage staffing levels, and ensure resource availability.
- Promote safety, customer service, and adherence to organizational policies and standards.
- Participate in performance evaluations, interdisciplinary planning, and process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
- Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT or RCP.
- Minimum of two years clinical experience in critical care areas such as ICU, CVICU, BURN, NICU, or Emergency Departments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills necessary to supervise staff and ensure high standards of care.
