Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments, primarily in critical care settings. They perform procedures such as ventilator management, airway management, arterial blood gas analysis, and pulmonary diagnostics, ensuring safe and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate patient care through assessment, therapy, and education.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans.
- Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, and perform invasive/non-invasive procedures.
- Mentor and educate patients, families, staff, and students.
- Promote safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation and electronic orders.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Certifications: NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, ACLS (all required upon hire).
- 0-2 years clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with healthcare professionals.
