Role Overview:
Provides direct respiratory care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, and treatment, within hospital and department guidelines. Applies advanced clinical expertise, serving as a resource to the healthcare team while ensuring patient safety through developmentally appropriate and compliant care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicates effectively with team members through documentation and handoffs.
- Educates patients, families, students, and staff about respiratory treatments and procedures, utilizing diverse learning styles.
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures, troubleshooting as needed, following standards and policies.
- Demonstrates advanced skills supporting ECMO, mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopies, sleep labs, and other specialized services.
- Acts as a resource, promotes continuous learning, and manages multiple duties efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Licenses & Certifications: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BLS), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- No previous experience required; strong clinical knowledge and collaborative attitude essential.
