Position Overview: The Occupational Therapist provides direct rehabilitation services in occupational therapy for patients in skilled nursing facilities, supporting both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation needs. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at improving functional outcomes and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and modify patient treatment goals based on individual needs.
- Supervise and evaluate care provided by OT Assistants, aides, and students.
- Document progress accurately and utilize therapy software effectively.
- Engage with patients, families, and support staff to coordinate care and ensure patient safety.
- Participate in community health initiatives and maintain professional relationships.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and legal regulations governing post-acute care.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
- Current licensure and registration in the applicable state; NBCOT certification preferred.
- CPR certification required or obtained during orientation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and communication tools.
- Strong decision-making, body mechanics, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to professional standards.
