Role Overview: The RN Resident is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care while completing a comprehensive 12-month Nurse Residency Program designed for new graduates with less than 6 months of experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using evidence-based practices to deliver individualized care.
- Partner with patients and families through effective communication methods, respecting cultural diversity and promoting patient goals.
- Coordinate safe, quality care within an interdisciplinary team, ensuring timely documentation and fostering a respectful, inclusive environment.
- Participate in professional development activities, serve as a preceptor or mentor, and engage in performance improvement and evidence-based research initiatives.
- Contribute to developing protocols and resource management to optimize patient outcomes and system efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Active RN license (single or multi-state compact) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Less than one year of RN experience required.
- Strong clinical, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
