Role Overview: The RN Resident is responsible for completing a 12-month Nurse Residency Program, designed to support new graduates with less than 6 months of RN experience in transitioning to professional practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized, high-quality patient care following current standards and evidence-based practices.
- Use clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and significant others to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, promote evidence-based practice, and support research utilization.
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor to other nurses and staff, fostering a healthy, professional work environment.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and competency assessments.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or degree from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current RN licensure (single-state or multi-state compact).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Less than 1 year of RN experience preferred.
- Strong teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and commitment to quality and safety.
