Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool – Days

Role Overview

This position is for a Float Registered Nurse (RN) providing patient care across 65+ inpatient units in a major academic medical center. The role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment, supporting diverse specialties including critical care areas for nurses with ICU experience. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, educate patients and families, and promote safety and regulatory compliance. Flexibility, strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license
  • Minimum 2 years recent acute care Medical-Surgical experience (preferred)
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in various clinical settings
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and ICU/Critical Care experience

Key Duties

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation
  • Educate patients and families on managing illness, medications, and post-treatment care
  • Participate in promoting patient safety, quality, and compliance
  • Develop and communicate individualized care plans across care teams
  • Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences and cultural values

  • Full-time, 12-hour day shifts with a $15/hour float differential
