Role: The RN Clinical Periop Nurse provides high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care in the operating room, collaborating within an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using evidence-based practices.
- Delivering relationship-based care tailored to patient demographics and cultural diversity.
- Partnering with patients and families through effective communication and education.
- Ensuring documentation of safe care and promoting teamwork via interdisciplinary communication.
- Supporting performance improvement initiatives, research, and shared governance.
- Serving as a preceptor/mentor to foster workforce development.
- Advocating for evidence-based practice and participating in quality initiatives.
- Proactively planning patient care across the continuum and developing protocols to improve outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of direct patient care nursing experience.
- Licensed as an RN (single or multi-state compact) and current BLS certification.
- Associates or Diploma in Nursing; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Knowledge of nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical practices.
- Strong teamwork, critical thinking, and communication skills.
