Role: Staff RN responsible for providing direct patient care to residents in a skilled nursing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and document resident care.
- Administer medications and treatments according to policies and procedures.
- Monitor residents, report findings to charge nurses or supervisors, and respond promptly to patient needs.
- Prepare resident assignments based on individual needs and staff competency.
- Ensure accurate documentation of activities of daily living (ADLs), meal intake, and other records.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to promote quality care and collaboration.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of an approved nursing school and licensed as an RN in New York State.
- Desire to work with elderly, chronically ill, and disabled populations; geriatric experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills, teamwork, enthusiasm, and a cooperative attitude.
- Knowledge of medical, social, psychological needs, infection prevention, and basic nursing principles.
- Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
