Role: Registered Nurse in Pulmonary Medicine Unit, providing care for higher acuity patients.
Responsibilities: Develops and evaluates care plans, assesses patient health data, and communicates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Provides individualized education on disease management, emergency care, and medications, considering cultural and learning needs. Supports professional development of peers and contributes to a compassionate environment by offering psychological support. Assists with technical procedures such as injections, IV management, and oxygen therapy. Participates in performance improvement, nursing research, and wound/ostomy/skin care rounds if skilled. Ensures HIPAA compliance and aids in patient transport when necessary.
Qualifications: Associate or higher in Nursing with an active Illinois RN license. Certifications in BLS and ACLS (within 6 months). Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of inpatient nursing experience. Must meet educational requirements for licensure and certification.
