Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit
Provide high-acuity step-down nursing care for complex medical and post-surgical patients. Perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, and implement evidence-based interventions.
Monitor patients using telemetry and hemodynamic techniques, recognize changes in condition, and respond according to clinical protocols. Collaborate with physicians and an interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe care and support effective discharges.
Educate patients and families on care plans and self-management. Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and ensure continuity of care.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and ongoing reassessments
- Administer medications and deliver evidence-based interventions
- Perform telemetry and hemodynamic monitoring
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and physicians
- Coordinate discharges and provide patient/family education
- Document care accurately in the EHR
Qualifications & Skills
- Current Registered Nurse licensure
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex patients
- Proficient with monitoring and rapid response to patient status changes
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
- Accurate, detail-oriented EHR documentation
