Progressive Care Nurse provides high-acuity, evidence-based care to medically complex patients in a fast-paced PCU environment.
Key duties
- Monitor unstable patients and interpret clinical changes
- Manage cardiac/telemetry monitoring
- Titrate IV drips and administer medications safely
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, therapists, and other team members
- Contribute to discharge planning and patient-centered transitions of care
- Deliver compassionate care and communicate effectively with families
Qualifications & skills
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills for high-acuity patients
- Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency with telemetry/cardiac monitoring and IV medication management
