Role: Coordinates patient flow and throughput in the department, collaborating with team members, bed coordinators, providers, and nursing staff to ensure efficient patient movement and care quality.
Responsibilities: Monitors patient volumes, manages bed assignments based on acuity, communicates with staff and leadership about flow issues, and facilitates timely patient discharge and transfers. Utilizes tele-tracking systems, addresses delays, and removes barriers to expedite patient care and provider orders. Provides thorough handovers to incoming coordinators, ensuring smooth operations.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of Specialty Training Program in Nursing (required), Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred). Demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities, with a focus on professional practice and effective team collaboration.
Key Duties: Serves as a role model, maintains communication with leadership, coordinates with ancillary departments, manages patient placement and transfer logistics, and ensures compliance with policies. Performs in a clinical environment, supporting quality metrics and process improvement initiatives.
