Registered Nurse – Oncology/Surgical ICU

Role Overview:

This position involves providing direct patient care in a specialized ICU unit, focusing on oncology, surgical, and bone marrow transplant patients. The nurse will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care, ensuring patient safety and promoting family-centered care. Responsibilities include patient education, interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and participating in quality improvement and professional development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients.
  • Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and cultural considerations.
  • Participate in safety compliance, quality initiatives, and ongoing education.
  • Support patient and family education on illness management and post-treatment care.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum education of Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • RN license required; no prior experience necessary, but 2+ years of ICU or relevant experience is preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with alertness and professionalism.
