Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical

Role Overview: A registered nurse practicing independently in a clinical setting, providing both routine and complex patient care, and managing long-term care plans. The nurse assesses, diagnoses, plans, intervenes, and evaluates patient needs, addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social factors.


  • Administers medications and treatments following protocols, monitoring for side-effects and effectiveness.
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.
  • Evaluates learning needs and offers education to patients, families, and caregivers, identifying resources and issues.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately to team members to manage clinical situations effectively.
  • Meets organizational competency standards, including new nurse orientation, competency validation, and annual updates.
  • Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred), at least 1 year of related nursing experience, BLS, RN licensure, and current PALS certification.
