Role Overview: A registered nurse practicing independently in a clinical setting, providing both routine and complex patient care, and managing long-term care plans. The nurse assesses, diagnoses, plans, intervenes, and evaluates patient needs, addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social factors.
Administers medications and treatments following protocols, monitoring for side-effects and effectiveness. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately. Evaluates learning needs and offers education to patients, families, and caregivers, identifying resources and issues. Delegates tasks appropriately to team members to manage clinical situations effectively. Meets organizational competency standards, including new nurse orientation, competency validation, and annual updates. Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred), at least 1 year of related nursing experience, BLS, RN licensure, and current PALS certification.
