Registered Nurse – Lactation Nurse

The Lactation Program Counselor collaborates with healthcare teams to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding through inpatient and outpatient program development and patient consultations.

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans, utilizing evidence-based practices, and managing patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications require a valid Massachusetts RN license, BLS certification, and at least 2 years of inpatient lactation consultation experience with IBCLC certification. A BSN is preferred.

Skills include effective communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork. The role involves physical tasks like lifting and prolonged standing, with exposure to infectious materials.
