Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Role Overview: Provides direct inpatient nursing care in a fast-paced, Level 2 trauma center with a diverse patient population, including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and behavioral health cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to standards and policies.
  • Administer treatments, medications, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
  • Coordinate and educate patients and families, including discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to meet patient needs and optimize care.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately, supervise team members, and promote teamwork.
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice activities.
  • Respond to changing patient conditions and troubleshoot equipment issues.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate from a nursing specialty training program.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality care, and continuous learning.
  • Additional Details: The role involves working in a collaborative environment with support from experienced nursing leaders, a charge nurse on duty 24/7, and access to resources like a pharmacist and behavioral health specialists.
