Registered Nurse Coordinator – Bone Marrow Transplant

Job Summary

Provide specialized nursing care for bone marrow transplant patients, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management and accurate documentation. Responsibilities include coordinating pre-transplant assessments, stem cell collection, and transplant procedures, while maintaining complete patient records and reporting to the Bone Marrow Transplant Registry. Ensure compliance with quality standards, review policies, and participate in program development and budgeting. Act as a patient advocate, mentor, and educator, promoting team development and continuous improvement. Maintain quality management and support regulatory and institutional standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • BSN degree and 2 years of RN experience required.
  • Certifications in Chemotherapy and Biotherapy within 3 months of hire.
  • Oncology Nursing Certification required after completing required hours.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and teaching abilities.
  • Knowledge of transplant procedures, quality management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to act as a mentor and advocate within a clinical environment.
  • Key Duties

    • Coordinate all aspects of bone marrow transplant care, from screening to post-transplant follow-up.
    • Maintain accurate patient records and reports for the transplant registry.
    • Ensure program compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
    • Review policies, assist with budget planning, and liaise with insurance providers.
    • Educate and mentor care team members, fostering professional development.
    • Complete quality documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
