Role Overview: Provides urgent care in a fast-paced, high-acuity outpatient environment under physician oversight, serving patients aged >1 year to geriatrics with diverse chief complaints. Utilizes critical thinking and clinical judgment to prioritize tasks, assess patient needs, and deliver comprehensive nursing care.
- Collaborates with providers to triage, assess, plan, and coordinate follow-up care.
- Performs patient assessments, obtains medical histories, vital signs, and prepares patients for examinations.
- Delivers direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic procedures.
- Assists providers during procedures and manages IV insertions, monitoring, and discontinutions.
- Collects laboratory specimens, prepares paperwork, and communicates test results efficiently.
- Provides patient and family education, discharge planning, and ensures understanding of medical instructions.
- Participates actively in team efforts, contributing to department goals and metrics.
- Maintains documentation accuracy and adheres to policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills: Minimum of two years RN experience; graduate from Specialty Training Program. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.
