Role Overview: The Registered Nurse (RN) in Acute Care Ortho Surgical provides high-quality, safe, patient-centered care within a collaborative interdisciplinary team. They practice according to professional standards, evidence-based guidelines, and organizational policies, ensuring individualized care that respects cultural diversity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Partner with patients and families through effective communication, education, and goal setting.
- Coordinate safe, efficient care delivery, ensuring accurate documentation and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research activities, and shared governance to enhance care quality.
- Mentor and serve as a preceptor to promote workforce development.
- Support evidence-based practice, clinical research, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Plan proactively for patient needs across the care continuum, developing protocols to improve outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience.
- Current RN license (single state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification required upon hire.
- Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, time management, and technology skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond calmly to emergencies.
