Role: Recreation Therapist supporting community-based elderly care programs.
Responsibilities: Provide therapeutic social, recreational, and diversional activities; conduct individual assessments to identify participant interests and needs; develop and implement both individual and group activities; participate in interdisciplinary care planning; coordinate recreation documentation; train and supervise volunteers, interns, and youth program assistants; lead facility-wide participant-centered events.
Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy; current BLS certification within 30 days of hire; certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist within 6 months; preferred experience includes at least 2 years working with elderly or disabled populations.
Key Duties: Support elder independence and health through engaging, participant-centered activities; collaborate with care teams; ensure thorough documentation; mentor volunteers and interns; lead community-focused events, fostering an inclusive environment.
