Role Description: MRI Technologists use radiofrequencies within magnetic fields to perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging. They independently execute MRI procedures, prepare and administer medications following legal guidelines, and analyze imaging data for diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and ensure patient safety following ALARA principles.
- Evaluate image quality, verify data storage/transfer, and assist with magnetic resonance interventional procedures.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, applying safety principles to minimize risks.
- Select pulse sequences considering protocols and data acquisition factors, demonstrate proficiency, and participate in quality improvement activities.
Qualifications & Skills: Certifications by ARRT-MR, ARMRIT, or NMTCB-MR are required. A graduate from a radiologic technology specialty training program is essential; a bachelor’s in a related field is preferred. The role demands proficiency in routine and complex duties, adherence to policies, and a commitment to excellence, safety, and continuous learning.
