Role Overview: MRI Technologists perform and assist with magnetic resonance imaging procedures for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They independently operate MRI equipment, prepare patients, and analyze imaging data for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper patient identification, preparation, and confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles for safety.
- Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, document activities, and evaluate image quality.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and assist with MRI interventional procedures.
- Select appropriate pulse sequences, demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex tasks, and participate in quality improvement activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or NMTCB with ARRT-MR, or equivalent qualifications.
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technology training program; a related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of MRI safety, technical imaging principles, and patient care.
