Radiology Technologist MRI – Weekender – Days

Role Overview: This position is for an MRI Technologist responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures to assist in diagnosis, research, or therapy. The technologist independently conducts or supports MRI exams, ensuring patient safety, proper preparation, and accurate data acquisition. They prepare, administer, and document medications per regulations, evaluate image quality, and verify data storage. Additionally, they educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, apply MRI safety principles, and assist with interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history securely.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and adhere to safety standards (ALARA).
  • Evaluate images for quality, verify data transfer, and assist in MRI safety and implant investigations.
  • Perform MRI procedures as prescribed, select pulse sequences, and support interventional procedures.
  • Educate colleagues and maintain compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Qualifications & Skills:

  • Certification from ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMRIT required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
  • Graduate of a radiologic technology training program; a bachelor’s in a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MRI safety, imaging protocols, and patient care practices.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and collaborate within a healthcare team.
